BETCO Inc. Residential General Purpose Metal Buildings

    Last updated 1 year ago

Metal buildings are suited for all kinds of functions. Metal buildings are commonly used as garages, storage sheds, and workshops. They vary in size, but generally come in a few pre-fabricated dimensions and eave heights.

    Garage and Workshop

A 576 sq. foot metal building is a good size for a garage and can double as a workshop space. Door sizes can vary from 7’ high to 14’ feet high, depending on customer specifications. It’s a good choice to use metal for construction of a garage or workshop because of its strength. The structure itself, made of metal stud and track frame construction, is extremely tough and robust. Trusses in the roof can support up to twenty pounds per square foot and 90 mph winds. Gutters and downspouts can be added for additional weather resilience.

    Workshop / Single Car Garage

Slightly smaller structures (16’ by 18’) are good for small garages or workshops that don’t need as much space. As with larger structures, modifications can be made, such as the addition of conventional swinging doors for easy access and wall liner panels to help insulate and make the interior more comfortable.

    Storage Sheds

Storage sheds are a common application for metal buildings. These sheds are generally six by six feet. They’re excellent as a place to store outdoor equipment, like yard work supplies, lawnmowers, and power tools, while keeping them protected with a metal roof and metal siding. As with all metal sheds, you can paint it afterwards to complement the rest of your property.

Metal buildings are a great choice for many common structures. They are quick and easy to construct and install and they are extremely strong and durable. If you’re interested in constructing a metal building for a garage, storage space, or workshop, then contact BETCO Inc. We offer 5 different basic sizes and eave heights. From a 40’ by 42’ to an 8’ by 10’ foot metal siding utility shed, we are sure that we can meet and exceed your needs. For more information, call us at (704) 872-2999 or visit us on the web.

BETCO Inc. | Everything You Need To Know About Roll-Up Doors

    Last updated 1 year ago

The roll-up door of a storage shed is much more complex than a conventional swinging door, since it has a lot of moving parts. The craftsmanship of a roll-up door must be of a high enough quality to ensure that every piece functions smoothly over thousands of repetitions. A high-quality, metal roll-up door has many features that contribute to smooth and satisfactory performance for your storage shed.

    Door Curtain:

The main part of the roll-up door is constructed with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that the metal strips are properly and precisely cut to the right shape.

Axle Drums, Door Springs, and Door Mounting Brackets:

These three elements form the top of the door, where the curtain is actually rolled up. The axle drums are welded by robot to the axle to ensure repeatedly smooth operation. The springs and the axle ends are painted with a zinc primer to prevent rust. The springs must be designed for long-lasting use without need for adjustment.  The mounting brackets must be strong and help the spring work together with the axle.

    Door Tracks and Door Stops:

These galvanized steel components are responsible for the door sliding smoothly and coming to a full stop when fully open. When the door is closing, the door tracks must provide enough panel clearance to prevent the door curtain from being damaged at all.

Door Handles, Door Bottom, and Rubber Seal:

When the door is closed, it’s important that there is a good seal at the bottom. The door bottom itself should be resistant to corrosion to ensure lasting protection of the items inside the storage shed.

If your metal building or storage shed needs a roll-up door of the highest quality, then let BETCO supply you with the very best. Our doors are made of the most durable materials, precision cut and crafted to ensure a long life of smooth operation. We also offer other services such as metal roofing work, metal siding, and metal trim. Give us a call today at (704) 872-2999 or visit us on the web to find out more.
